lesson of 08/12/10

Today in lesson we basically just got on with our Small Scale projects ourselves, whilst Mrs Raji saw each one in the class individually, having a one to one to see where everyone is.

I think mine went well and was quite please, all i really gotta do is go to the British Library to try and find some informatuion on segregation as a result of not finding much at the BFI

Prezi of investigation

Collate research

Now i think its time to get a class to sit down and get them to watch Skin and perhaps To Kill A Mockingbird (if can get it on D.V.D)

If i get the class to write skin, i think i would either ask them some questions or make them a questionaire to fill out for me, i know one of the questions could be 'what was your reactions towards Sandra and her parents' and i could try and find out what they think about sandra and her choosen boyfriend, the scene where the white people decide to take the black people homes away from them (destroy their homes) and leave them homeless and their opinions on the matter of black people and white people cant share the same space in some part of their town (relates to when sandra got put into prison for being caught with her boyfriend at his place)....perhaps?

I can also write some questionaires up for my class pupils, asking them some questions of what they actually know about the segregation of black and white people in 'older' films and how they were treated, and could even ask them if they have watched films that shows this, what films and what was their emotion response.

WHAT SHOULD OF BEEN DONE SO FAR!!

Small Scale: What should be done by now

Blog set up - this should be updated every time you do something or find out something new
Folder bought, with dividers
All films watched - with notes relevant to investigation question, you should have key scenes picked out that you can show during your presentation
Internet research complete - all link used logged on your blog
All research from the BFI gone through and highlighted - if you needed to go again this should have been done by now
Collate research - use pg14 of booklets as a guide on how to do this, you need to start separating useful research from un-useful research
Primary research should be in process now - e.g. questionnaires, interviews, focus groups, etc
IF YOU DON'T UP DATE YOUR BLOGS I CAN'T SEE WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DOING!

viewing of Mississippi Burning

Honestly, i need to rewatch Mississippi burning as when i attempted to do so i had many interuptions and things on my mind and only remember very little, but one particular scene i remember is when the black people are in the church , and when they all came out they are bombareded by whites people that have guns, base ball bats ect and their faces are covered up by sheets, then after a couple of minutes on the film you see them torturing this young boy, looks around the age of 1416 years... I had quite an emotional response here as i was horrified someone would actually do something like that.
